ALO GooseNeck Kit
How to use the external light kit
Some example of external light from the top
ALO Photo Sphere & External Light
Turn On only the external light and position over the above semi-sphere, the light will come from the top only. If necessary increase a bit the frontal light (by using the side intensity knob controller) for a lighter result.
In this example camera almost frontal. All other lights off.
Jewel Position
Using a white matte turntable to have a natural shadow under the jewel. Ring is placed in the center and stick with wax. The best position here to get the result.
The two mirror panels are positioned by the sides (de-touching its magnets), to reflect the light and enhance object's edges.
Final Result
By settings the parameters at TV: 1/15, AV: 11, ISO : 200, you will get the right lighting condition. Increase the first parameter to have darker preview or decrease it for a lighter one.
Easy thanks to camera preview in ALO Photo Scan software.
